The City of Coachella will host its annual Christmas tree lighting at City Hall on December 4th, 2024, at 5:30 PM. Enjoy a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and free food to sample! The celebrations continue on Friday, December 6th, at 6:00 PM with a Skellington-themed parade through Downtown Coachella. Fun events include an ice slide, carnival rides, food vendors, and a live DJ. 

Magic of Lights Coachella Valley

Experience a dazzling light show at the Magic of Lights Coachella Valley, featuring popular holiday scenes and characters. You’ll take in the light show from the comfort of your own car, so pack your favorite holiday snacks and hot cocoa and enjoy the ride. Tickets are priced for one carload and vary by vehicle. The event takes place from 11/19/2024 to 12/29/2024 at the Empire Polo Club.

Sound of the Holidays - Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

A Palm Springs holiday staple for decades, the Sound of the Holidays transforms the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway into a joyous celebration. High school choir students will perform holiday favorites at 8,516 feet at the Pines Cafe Stage. Showtimes start at 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM and are included in the regular Tram admission. Sound of the Holidays takes place from December 4th, 5th, 8th, 11th, 12th, and 15th.

Santa Paws 5K and Elf Dash

Join Santa and his elves for the Santa Paws 5K and Elf Dash and help support Guide Dogs of the Desert! Santa suits will be given out for all to wear and keep post-race. Participants can choose to run, walk, or stroll the 5K and strollers and pups are welcome to take part in the race. There will be a 200 meter Elf Dash for children 10 and under which includes a finisher medal. The race will begin at 332 W. Alejo Rd. Palm Springs at 8:30 AM.

Snowtopia

If you’re itching for a snowy Palm Springs Christmas, head to Palm Springs Air Museum for Snowtopia! 60 tons of real snow will land on December 20 - 22 and will transform the Air Museum into a winter wonderland. Enjoy the snow playground, take a ride on the holiday train, and make s’mores over firepits. There will also be food from various food truck vendors. And don’t forget to grab your camera for photos with Frosty, the elves, and Mrs. Claus. Kids 5 and under are free.
